About Air-Cooled Laser Welding

DiodAir – A Compact Air-Cooled Laser Welding System

DiodAir is a compact handheld laser welding system designed for manufacturing and repair work where portability and a small footprint are essential. Its air-cooled design is particularly suited to welding thin-gauge metals and manual tasks that require frequent movement between workpieces or workstations.

The system can operate continuously for up to 10 minutes while maintaining stable welding parameters. Noise levels of up to 76 dB contribute to a more comfortable working environment in production facilities and repair workshops.

DiodAir combines Diodela’s expertise in industrial laser systems with technologies developed specifically for the company by Lithuanian laser scientists.

  • The system complies with EN safety standards and is CE certified.
  • Expected laser diode lifetime > 90 000 hours (10 years of operation).
  • The system is provided with a 24-month warranty and user training..

About The Technology

Laser beam welding is one of the main industrial laser processing methods, used to join various materials by creating strong welds. The process can also form strong bonds between materials of different types and properties.

High Efficiency

Depending on the material, its thickness and the selected welding parameters, handheld laser welding speeds can range from 1–5 m/min. Higher welding speeds help reduce production time and increase productivity.

Reduced Heat Input

Precisely controlled laser energy is focused on the weld area, reducing heat exposure in the surrounding material. This helps minimise workpiece distortion and preserve material properties.

High-Quality Welding Results

Laser welding produces narrow, uniform and visually appealing weld seams with minimal oxidation and slag. High-quality welds help reduce the need for grinding, cleaning and other post-processing.

Why Choose DiodAir?

Through close collaboration with laser science centers and years of experience in photonics, the Diodela team develops innovative and precise laser systems that meet industrial needs. Designed for handheld laser welding, DiodAir combines the benefits of this technology with portability, efficient use of workspace and simpler day-to-day operation.

Compact and Portable

Measuring 55 × 55 × 32 cm and weighing 32 kg, the system is well suited to smaller production spaces and repair workshops and is easy to transport between workstations.

Air-Cooled

The system is air-cooled, eliminating the need for an external water cooling unit. This simplifies maintenance, as there is no coolant to monitor, no risk of coolant leaks and fewer components to maintain.

Cost-Efficient

Diodela systems consume 40% less electricity than average MIG machines, for example, when welding 3mm stainless steel.

Ergonomic Welding Torch

At just 650 g, the lightweight laser welding gun reduces operator fatigue and supports comfortable, precise handling during extended welding tasks and applications requiring a high level of accuracy.

Noise Level up to 76 dB

The system operates at a noise level of up to 76 dB, contributing to a more comfortable working environment in production and repair facilities.

Stable Operation

The system can operate continuously for up to 10 minutes while maintaining stable welding parameters. This operating cycle is designed for handheld welding tasks carried out in stages.
